2020 PANTONE COLOR OF THE YEAR: CLASSIC BLUE

The Pantone Color of the Year dropped last week and we want to talk about it! Last Wednesday we waited with bated breath on Pantone's Instagram post announcing 2020s Color of the Year. They teased a few snaps of a gorgeous sunset and we were convinced that the COTY might be an Orange Blossom, a Ruby Red, or Bold Fuchsia so when Classic Blue was announced we were a little… underwhelmed. Blue is a beautiful color both in and outside of wedding design, but being lovers or all things extra we expected something a little more dynamic. I headed over the Pantone's blog for more insight on the choice. They described Classic Blue as:

As classic and beautiful as matching breezy bridesmaid dresses can be, a bride who puts a twist on tradition makes for an exciting change. Bridesmaids dresses have had their fair share of…questionable moments, but thankfully bridesmaid style is evolving. Long gone are the days of puffy sleeves, mega bows, and ruching; 2019 is all about your bridesmaids looking and feeling their best by your side.

Some brides give their crew free rein as long as they stick within a particular color palette. Others tailor their criteria a little more but still keep in mind the shapes, sizes, and tastes of their girl gang. Either way, trying something different can have some super dreamy payoffs.
